This very rare, multiple starfish fossil contains the Brittle-Star Aplocoma damesii and multiple bivales, possibly species Pteromya langportensis.

It is from the Rhaetian Penarth Group, Rhaetian stage, Westbury formation of the latest Triassic, Penarth Wales approximately 210 - 208 Myo

Some of the brittle stars are articulated whilst others are in various stages of disarticulation. The starfish continue throughout the block mixed between the bi-valves.

The starfish are very difficult to photograph well, however this block has at least nine. They are entwined amongst the bivalves, some of which are only partially visible and are in varying states of completeness.
